Delete your account

You only have an account if you signed in to the One Guyana Direct app to send messages, vote, save favourites or set reminders. Listening never needs one.

In the app

Go to More, then Privacy and data, and press Delete my account.

On this page

Enter the email address you signed in with. We’ll email you a link to confirm.

Signed in with a phone number? Delete your account in the app, or email support@oneguyanadirect.com with the number. We’ll check it’s yours before deleting anything.

What happens when you delete your account

  • We delete your email address or phone number, your name, your favourites, your reminders, where you got to in each programme, and any copy of your data we prepared for you.
  • Every phone signed in to your account is signed out.
  • Permission to read your name on air, and to send you news and updates, is withdrawn.
  • Messages, voice notes, photos and videos you already sent stay with us without your name or any link to you, and their uploads are deleted one year after you sent them. Permission you gave to play your voice or show your photo or video stays as you gave it.

Deleting can’t be undone. Read more in our privacy notice.

Delete some of your data and keep your account

You can remove parts of what One Guyana Direct holds about you without deleting your account.

In the app

  • Favourites: open More, then Your library, and remove the ones you don’t want.
  • Reminders: open More, then Notifications, and remove them.
  • Permissions you gave for your name, voice, photo, video or words, and news and updates: open More, then Privacy and data, and press Withdraw beside each one.
  • Your name, email, phone number or region: open More, then Your account, and press Edit details.

Messages, voice notes, photos and videos you sent

Email support@oneguyanadirect.com from the email address or phone number you signed in with, and tell us which message. We’ll check the request is yours, then delete the message with its voice note, photo or video and its permission records, within one month. Something already broadcast can’t be taken back, but we won’t use it again.

How long we keep things

  • Voice notes, photos and videos you send: deleted one year after you send them, or sooner if you ask.
  • The text of your messages, and the record of the permissions you gave: kept as a record until you ask us to delete them or delete your account (when they stay without your name).
  • Favourites, reminders and where you got to in each programme: until you remove them or delete your account.
  • Your account details: until you change them or delete your account.
  • A copy of your data you download: the file is deleted after 7 days.
